QUITE AN AMAZING DAY... ROLL OUT OF BED AT 4:30, IN KALISPELL, AND AT AROUND NOON, TWO TIME ZONES WEST WE'RE GAZING AT THE MENDENHALL GLACIER IN JUNEAU, AK.
We had a 4 hr lay over in Juneau so had some time for some site seeing. A lady who also had a layover, from her flight from Fairbanks to Seattle, who we just happened to stumble on to, helped us find our way around.

Then, we got on another plane for the 100 mile trip down to Petersburg. Lots of fishermen, hunters etc on these flights around the last frontier. They all love Sarah and highly reccommend her for VP.
We had a nice meeting this morning and are looking forward to Gospel meeting in about 1/2 hour. It's raining outside...
Below is the Harbor in Petersburg... Very beautiful area
The picture below is taken from the north end of Mitkoff Island, where Petersburg is, across Fredrick Sound to the snow capped peaks on the mainland. I suppose the Canadian border might be at or near the top of that snow capped ridge.
Now, Monday morning we plan to do a little fishing... not raining yet, but overcast.
Below, Joe at the helm as were leaving the harbour...
Below, me attempting to boat some herring to use for bait, before leaving the harbour.... A sea lion showed up to help himself to our bait. I'll try to get a pic of these fellows. This morning Judy and I saw a huge one frolicking in the harbour, right behind where the boats are tied. Joe said theres a couple of the weigh in at around 2000 pounds. We found ourselves not walking very close to the edge of the dock for obvious reasons! A couple months ago a young man was sitting on the edge of the dock and one came out of the water behind him and bit of a piece of his cheek! Lucky he didn't get pulled in the water! The fishing was pretty slow the first day. We caught one koho, and had it for supper. Excellent tasting, deep salmon orange.
Judy roughing it here, in the last frontier...
